Iconic Australian game looks to tap into vast athletic pool with historic combine.
When the name of a sport has the name of the country of origin in it, you would expect it would be a hard sell elsewhere in the world.
However, officials from several Australian Football league clubs attended a historic combine in American in Los Angeles to try and find the next diamond in the rough.
AFL has shown itself to bridge language and cultural barriers, with a host of Irish stars setting the league on fire in recent years and this round North Melbourne’s Majak Daw will become the first Sudanese-born player in the AFL.
