Western Bulldogs young-gun Marcus Bontempelli has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, taking him until at least the end of the 2017 season.
After making his debut in round five against Carlton, Bontempelli has nailed down his spot in the Western Bulldogs senior lineup having not missed a game since round ten.
Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said the 18-year-old had been good progress in his first year at the club.
“Marcus has been a welcome addition to the club and ticks all the boxes from character, work-ethic and ability,” McCartney said.
“He is part of a core group of players who we see as important in the club’s future endeavours.”
Bontempelli has put in a series of eye-catching performances including a standout match in round 13 against Collingwood where he was awarded a Rising Star nomination.
The tall midfielder was taken at pick no.4 of the 2013 AFL Draft and has played 13 games in his debut season.
