West Coast has offered delisted Carlton midfielder Kane Lucas a lifeline after selecting the West Australian in Wednesday’s AFL rookie draft.
Lucas was picked up by the Blues at no.12 in the 2009 national draft, but appeared in just 42 games for the club after failing to cement a permanent spot in the senior squad.
Carlton released Lucas at the end of the 2014 season.
West Coast took the 23-year-old at pick no.10 in the rookie draft – the Eagles’ only selection in both of today’s pre-season and rookie drafts.
