De Gea, despite being in phenomenal form this season, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid over the summer as his contract runs down to its expiration at the end of the following campaign.
However, Mendes believes the Spanish international will opt to stay put at Old Trafford by resisting a move to the Bernabeu.
“He has one year left on his contract and I think that he will stay in Manchester,” Mendes said.
“The player will decide, but he’s happy there, at the moment.”
De Gea’s future has had a question mark hanging over it in recent weeks, with manager Louis Van Gaal admitting that “everything is possible” when asked if he would be leaving, though he also admitted that he would like to keep him.
