Bony will be joining the Swans.
The agent of Swansea City target Wilfried Bony has confirmed that the Vitesse Arnhem striker will be joining the Swans in what will be a club record transfer.
In an interview with Czech news agency CTK Dalibor Lacina has revealed that after months of speculation the deal for Bony is finally competed.
“We are pleased that after playing for Sparta and Arnhem, Bony has made the next step in his career and a move to the Premier League is a dream come true,” Lacina was quoted in Sport Aktualne.
“For Bony, Swansea is a big challenge and he is looking forward to working with coach Laudrup,”
Although the Swans themselves have not officially announced the signing of the 24-year-old, chairman Huw Jenkins has already admitted that the Welsh club were in the for the Ivorian in what was likely to be a £13m transfer.
Another of the striker’s representatives also confirmed that a trio of English top flight clubs were also interested in Bony, with Everton, Liverpool and West Ham all in the hunt, but Swansea eventually edged ahead.
The Ivory Coast international will arrive at the Liberty Stadium on the back of another impressive season in the Netherlands and in 77 matches for Vitesse the forward has netted a colossal 58 goals.
Bony is also a national team player for the Ivory Coast having earned 18 caps for the country and scoring six times, despite strong competition in that area from the likes of Didier Drogba and Seydou Doumbia.
The arrival of the striker will smash the Swans’ club record transfer fee and will also be manager Michael Laudrup’s sixth summer signing.
