The Metro claimed the Blues were lining up a move for the teenage striker this summer and saw him as an ideal replacement for a Didier Drogba who is expected to leave when his contract expires.
However, Batur Altıparmak, Unal’s agent, has ruled out any suggested of a switch the Stamford Bridge at the first opportunity, telling Turkish-football.com that these reports are ‘nothing but gossip’.
“These reports are nothing but gossip. Enes has one year left on his contract it would be illogical for Chelsea to make a €7 million offer right now,” said Altıparmak.
However, he didn’t rule out a deal at some point in the future, revealing a number of sides were looking into a potential move for Bursaspor front-man.
“Enes is undoubtedly a very talented player and there are a number of big clubs keeping close tabs on him,” he said.
“There have been a number of licensed and unlicensed agents pretending to represent Enes trying to offer him to clubs outside of Turkey.
“If any clubs are interested the only parties with any say on the matter are Bursaspor and myself.”
Despite being just 18 years of age, Unal has already been called up to the Turkish senior side, making his debut in a 2-1 win over Luxembourg in March.
It’s easy to see why he’s become such an enticing prospect for clubs having become the youngster player to score so far this season in the Turkish Super League and has managed seven goals in his appearances this season.
As Turkish-football.com point out, the forward was recently placed in the Guardian’s 40 best young talents in world football list.
