Man United are desperate to land Gareth Bale this summer. Will any amount of money pry Bale from Real Madrid?
Despite the intense interest from Man United in Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, the La Liga giants don’t appear to be worried about Bale wanting to leave.
According to the IBTimes, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett said his client is “very happy” at Real Madrid has no interest in leaving, even amidst reports that Man United is offering upwards of £100 million to secure his transfer.
“There is no situation, Barnett told IBTimes. “Why should he leave? There are rumours of men on the moon. That’s a saying.
“He is a star at Real. Why would he consider leaving them. He is very happy to be at the biggest club in the world. (Winning Copa del Rey and Champions League) that’s just the start and he will be the best player in the world. He wants to do that at Real.
“Gareth is a great team player and wants to repay the faith that president of Real Madrid has shown. He has a great deal of respect for (team President) Perez. He likes Gareth and he broke the world record for him and he very much admirers the president.”
Bale played two seasons at Southampton and six seasons for Tottenham Hotspur starting starting when he was just a teenager, earning Team of the Year honors on three occasions and scoring 21 goals in the 2012-13 season. That summer, Real Madrid broke the transfer record by paying £85.3 million for the now-26-year-old Welshman.
In two seasons with Real Madrid, Gareth Bale has a total of 28 goals in just 58 appearances. He is slated to be the second striker alongside Ronaldo under new manager Rafa Benitez this season.
