Vos is said to have met with Wenger to negotiate a return for van Persie.
Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri has revealed that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie wants a return to Arsenal.
The Dutchman’s agent Kees Vos is said to have met with Gunners manager Arsene Wenger in London on January 28 about the prospect of a reunion between the player and boss.
Van Persie has become frustrated at Old Trafford since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and is annoyed with new boss David Moyes’ training regime.
The 30-year-old believes that Moyes’ archaic methods are what has aggravated the forward’s injuries this season and caused the Netherlands international to sit out much of the campaign.
Van Persie has told both his agent and the United manager that he would like a return to the Emirates Stadium, something the Scot is prepared to sanction as long as the price is right.
This is why Vos went to the English capital to discuss the matter with Wenger, with a transfer of around £29m thought to be enough to convince Moyes to sell.
Van Persie spent nine years in north London and developed into one of the best attackers in the world under the Frenchman’s guidance, before making a £24m switch to the Red Devils in the summer of 2012.
The Dutch star helped Ferguson regain the Premier League title from Manchester City that term and also won the league’s Golden Boot award with 30 goals.
However, van Persie felt misled when the United boss retired and was not happy with the change in regime so soon after joining the club.
Wenger is of course keen to bring the forward back to Arsenal and it would be a move that would please the fans, especially with the side lacking support in attack currently.
