With Brendan Rodgers’ team struggling in front of goal which has resulted in a so-far disappointing season, the Merseyside club have been linked with an array of forwards in the transfer window, including Napoli’s Higuain.
However, the 27 year old’s contract is not set to expire with the Italian side until 2018 and he is arguably considered one of the most crucial players in Rafa Bentiez’s squad.
It appears Reds boss Rodgers will have to look elsewhere for a striker with a move for Higuain unlikely.
