Fans’ favourite not looking to depart Red Devils, claims agent.
The representative of Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa has insisted that the Japanese international is happy at Old Trafford.
Kagawa has been linked with a summer move to Napoli, but agent Thomas Kroth has dismissed claims that his client is poised to link up with former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez in Naples.
“Has Benitez made contact with Kagawa? These are just rumours,” Thomas Kroth told Ultimecalcionapoli.it.
“He is not unhappy at Manchester United, so there’s no reason to talk about him departing to another club.”
Kagawa has only made 17 Premier League appearances this season, but he has started both games since Ryan Giggs replaced David Moyes as manager last month.
The 25-year-old, who is a fans’ favourite at Old Trafford, is under contract with the Red Devils until June 2016.
Since joining United from Borussia Dortmund in a £12m deal in June 2012, Kagawa has played 55 games in all competitions for the 20-time champions of England, scoring six goals.
During his two-year spell with Dortmund, Kagawa scored 21 goals in 49 Bundesliga matches.
He has netted 17 times in 54 senior international appearances.
