Argentinian starlet subject of reported €35m bid.
The representatives of Roma ace Erik Lamela are set for talks with Tottenham on Tuesday according to reports in the Italian media.
The 21-year-old has been monitored by the Premier League outfit all summer, but it was initially believed that the Giallorossi were looking to offload one star name in order to help balance the books.
With Pablo Osvaldo completing his €17m move to Southampton on Monday, it appeared as though that they had made their sacrifice and would now be able to hold on to their remaining key players.
However, according to Corriere dello Sport as reported by Football Italia, Tottenham are set for talks with the talented youngster’s representatives on Tuesday after it was speculated that the north London side are ready to bid up to €35m.
It is understood that they are also prepared to offer a four-year deal worth €4m per season, with Franco Baldini set to discuss terms with the player’s father Jose Lamela and agent Pablo Sebbag in the coming days.
Lamela joined Roma in 2011 from River Plate in a deal worth around €17m, and has scored 19 goals in 62 league games with 15 of those goals coming last season.
Having been tipped for a bright future it will come as a huge disappointment for the Roma fans were he to leave, particularly in light of the fact that the player himself has made no indication that he wishes to depart.
Coupled with the sale of Osvaldo, it would appear Roma are in no desperate need to raise further finances, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will choose to cash in on the Argentine starlet.
