With growing interest in Liverpool veteran striker Rickie Lambert from other clubs, the aging star may be putting his dream to play with the Reds on hold.
According to the Mirror, West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is a big fan of Lambert and reportedly wants to bring the 33-year-old striker to help revive his career. Premier League newcomer Bournemouth and the recently-relegated QPR reportedly have significant interest in the aging striker as well.
Lambert recorded just three goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool after signing a two-year deal with the club following a £4 million transfer from Southampton.Coming off seven consecutive seasons with double-digit goals scored it was almost shocking but not surprising at how quickly Lambert’s scoring ability took a dive.
With Liverpool’s well-noted struggles on offense last season, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers could see Lambert as the first of several strikers to be sent away in order to re-work the offense.
