One of the key sporting events in the calendar for many fans is the Grand National at Aintree racecourse in Liverpool. As part of next year’s 2018 Grand National festival, Aintree racecourse has announced it will be hosting an event on the Thursday called ‘Grand National Thursday – A Day for Champions’. This brand-new event has caused much excitement amongst the public. Read on to learn what it’s all about.
What is ‘A Day for Champions’?
The city of Liverpool has a proud sporting tradition. As Aintree is an area of this great city, organisers have decided to run ‘A Day for Champions’ in honour of the many fine sporting celebrities from the Merseyside area. A new Champions Lounge is due to be created close to the Parade Ring on the racecourse itself and will be hosted by the BBC’s Dan Walker. That is where the various activities that will happen on the day will take place.

Since news of the special day was released along with more details, it has become clear that it will be an event not to be missed. There are Question and Answer sessions planned with many sporting greats, including Graeme Sharp and Michael Owen, which you will want to attend as they promise to be lively and entertaining. How to be involved
If you are interested in attending ‘A Day for Champions’ on the Thursday of the Grand National festival, then you will need to book tickets with Aintree racecourse in advance. As well as entry to the Champions Lounge and sessions, you get breakfast canapes along with a seat in the Earl of Derby grandstand and free car parking.
