Dutch giants could make £4m if striker moves to Barcelona.
Eredivisie champions Ajax are poised to receive a significant financial boost from Liverpool’s proposed sale of striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona, according to Yahoo.
Ajax signed the Uruguayan international from FC Groningen for a fee in the region of €7.5m in 2007, before selling him to Liverpool for £22.8m (€26.5m) in January 2011.
Dutch journalist Simon Zwartkruis claims that the deal that took Suarez to Liverpool included a sell-on clause.
Although the exact details of the clause of confidential, it is claimed that Ajax stand to pocket five per cent of the fee from the player’s next move.
With Barcelona reportedly willing to pay around £80m for Suarez, Ajax could receive £4m.
