The transfer window in the UAE only closed last week and club officials had hoped to be able to tempt the former Leeds United star away from White Heart Lane after playing just a bit part role in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans so far this season.
The 27-year-old has played just once for Tottenham this season, and had even been tipped to make an exif from the club during the summer transfer window.
And it is understood that as part of Al Ahli’s bid they were offering Lennon a salary of almost £3m-a-year as well as a luxury lifestyle in Dubai.
However, Spurs were not willing to entertain the offer and will look to continue the player’s nine-year association with the club.
