Aleksandar Kolarov scored his first goal at the Etihad Stadium since May to seal Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday.
The Serbian found the net with a trademark thunderbolt with his left boot to end hopes of a Saints comeback, after Shane Long had halved the deficit created by first-half strikes from Kevin De Bruyne and Fabian Delph.

Kolarov has now scored 19 goals for City. This was his ninth in the Premier League.
City’s win took them back to the top of the table, but they will fall down to second if tonight’s game between Leicester City and Manchester United does not end in a draw.
