With over 120 goals since 2007, Alexandre Pato could be a breath of fresh air for the struggling Man United offense.
With the transfer window set to close in just over 48 hours, Man United are hoping they can make a deal for Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato before the deadline.
According to the Metro, Man United have joined Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the chase for the 25-year-old Corinthians star (who is currently on loan to Sao Paolo). HITC reported that the release clause is believed to be £14.5 million.
Despite a big win over Club Brugge in the Champions League, Man United are still struggling to score in the Premier League.
Alexandre Pato has recorded double-digit goals in every season in which he’s made at least 30 appearances since his debut in 2006. In two seasons on loan to Sao Paolo, Pato has 17 league goals and 33 total goals.
Pato was awarded the prestigious Golden Boy Award in 2009 for the top Under-21 player in Europe. The award has very often been a precursor to greatness with other recipients of the award including Wayne Rooney, Sergio Aguero, Mario Gotze, Cesc Fabregas, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and even Lionel Messi.
