Manchester City – Joe Hart (2006) England’s number one made his debut for City in October 2006, but it was not until after a loan spell at Birmingham City that he truly established himself in between the posts for the Citizens.
Manchester United – Wayne Rooney (2004) After his £30m transfer from Everton, Rooney marked his United debut with a Champions League hat-trick against Fenerbahce and has not stopped scoring since. He now has two Sir Bobby Charlton records in his sights.
Newcastle United – Steven Taylor (2004) Mike Ashley, Dennis Wise, Joe Kinnear, the French revolution – Taylor has seen it all in his 11 years at St James’ Park. He would have made more than his 200 and so appearances had it not been for injuries.
Norwich City – Wes Hoolahan (2008) The Republic of Ireland international playmaker has not always been in favour in his seven years at Carrow Road, but he was an integral figure for Alex Neil as the Canaries earned promotion via the Championship playoffs last season.
