The young Brazilian that is being linked with a big move to Premier League.
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have all been heavily linked with a move for Atletico Mineiro attacking midfielder Bernard.
The £21m rated Brazilian has been causing quite a stir in South America and the Premier League, along with Ukranian and Portuguese champions Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Porto, have all been taking note.
So fanatix thought it would be useful to see what all the fuss is about.
The 20-year-old Bernard came through the youth ranks at Atletico Mineiro and progressed to the first team at the beginning of the 2011 season.
During the midfielder’s first campaign at the club the Brazil international managed 23 appearances, but it wasn’t until 2012 that the ruthless talent really shone through.
In 36 league matches in Brazil, Bernard netted an impressive 11 goals and provided a further 12 assists – a superb contribution from a midfielder.
Generally the South American likes to operate out on the left-wing, with former Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho playing behind the striker, although the youngster is equally adept at playing more centrally or on the right.
Bernard is compact and quick, with the traditional Brazilian trait of being tricky and difficult to stop and the winger is able to change direction at pace as well as having a bagful of skills.
The attacking midfielder earned his first cap for Brazil in September last year and has since gone onto play five times for the country, including two appearances at the nation’s recent triumph at the Confederations Cup.
At still only 20 Bernard is certainly a raw talent, but it would certainly seem that the South American would enrich the Premier League – a competition that usually loses out to the likes of La Liga and Serie A when skillful youngsters move from the continent.
