7. Chelsea
It’s hard to criticise a club who signed the likes of Willian, Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto’o in a single transfer window but it’s also hard to avoid the feeling that Chelsea could have done better business this summer. The arrivals of Willian and Schurrle seem odd considering how many attacking playmakers the club already boast, while boss Jose Mourinho failed in his public courtship of Man United’s Wayne Rooney. Mourinho may not have history of sticking around at clubs but the Blues invested heavily for the future with the signings of Marco van Ginkel, Christian Atsu and Isiaiah Brown among others.
A solid window but disappointing window given the fanfare of the Special One’s return.
