3. Tottenham
It’s not often a club loses by their star player but emerges from the transfer window looking stronger. Spurs spent over £100m this summer but still earned a sweet sweet profit after Gareth Bale’s world record departure to Real Madrid. Andre Villas-Boas and co. will miss the sublime Welshman but the Portuguese, aided by chairman Daniel Levy and sporting director Franco Baldini, spent well and now has a wealth of attacking options available, including Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela. Tasty.
