Arsenal could wrap up a deal for Valencia forward Alvaro Negredo.
The Metro claim that the Gunners have been offered the signature of the Spanish striker, and could be tempted to pounce on his availability as Real Madrid‘s Karim Benzema is continuing to prove a major challenge for Arsene Wenger.
Negredo spent last season on loan at Valencia, but with Manchester City apparently demanding £10m this summer and another £10m next year, he looks to be in search of a new club ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.
This will come as blow to the player and City, as BBC Sport reported that Valencia had an obligation to make his deal permanent at the end of last season.
With 23 seasons in his debut campaign in the Premier League, Arsenal may well consider luring him to the Emirates Stadium – even if his form has dipped.
