The waiting is over as British star Amir Khan has revealed that he will be fighting Luis Collazo on May 3 in Las Vegas as chief support for the Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana fight.

The 27-year-old has had a frustrating spell of inactivity after a fight with Mayweather failed to materialise, although he has since hinted that the American superstar has promised that they will meet in the future.
Nevertheless, despite not being shy of reminding fight fans that he is still chasing that fight with the 37-year-old, Khan must now focus on his next opponent as he looks to shake off any ring rust that he might have.
While he has been granted his wish of “staying in Floyd’s face” by fighting on his show as chief support, Collazo will undoubtedly prove to be a dangerous encounter after the 32-year-old claimed a knockout win over Victor Ortiz last time out.
However, having benefited from additional time training with Virgil Hunter, Khan is confident that he is a better fighter after working on his mentality and knowledge of the sport to go with his skill set.
It remains to be seen whether or not he eventually meets Mayweather in the ring, but it promises to be a thrilling night of boxing action on May 3 with two top match-ups ahead.
