United refuse to pay €36m asking price for uncapped Spanish midfielder…
Manchester United’s bid to bring Athletic Bilbao’s Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes on Monday evening appears to be off.
Respected Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that Herrera is travelling with the Bilbao squad for their upcoming La Liga fixture, and that United are flatly refusing to pay the inflated €36m fee Bilbao require.
The Red Devils are desperate to bring in a midfielder before the transfer window closes, and could now up their efforts to sign Roma’s Italian stalwart Daniele De Rossi or Everton’s Belgian powerhouse Marouane Fellaini.
Ander Herrera travels to Madrid for game. He’s told the coach he’s available.

As of today, conversations for Herrera have stopped. United think 36m euros too much to pay. It’s a complex deal and not much time left
