The mixed martial arts world was stunned for the second time this year during an Anderson Silva fight, but nobody could have predicted how his second bout with Chris Weidman would pan out.
Looking to get back the middleweight title he lost earlier this year, Weidman looked to be controlling the fight through the first round before the fight came to a screeching halt in the second.
Silva threw a leg-kick which was checked by the champion, with the result being both bones in the Brazilian’s leg snapping and him falling to the ground in agony.
The fight was called to an end and the 38-year-old was taken to hospital for immediate treatment, with fellow UFC fighters watching on reacting on Twitter to what might be the last fight for ‘The Spider’.
