NBA number one draft pick inches closer to a move to Minnesota in a trade deal.
It is the strangest and most-silent love triangle in the NBA at the moment.
In a further sign the 2014 number one draft pick Andrew Wiggins will be dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the newest Cavs top pick says he has not spoken to the other big name addition to Cleveland this off-season – LeBron James.
“No. I’m sure he’s busy,” Wiggins said. “I feel like I’m busy, so I am sure he’s busy.”
With the entire rookie class of 2014 appearing in several photo-shoots and answering questions for their new fans and rounds reporters, Wiggins appeared in Cavs wine and gold for the first time.
And how the story will end as written on Wiggins’ face when he looked down at his number 21 in gold with a look on his face that expressed “I wonder if this will be the only time I wear this”.
It seems Wiggins will join a rare class of number one draft picks who are traded before playing a single minute for their chosen club with a deal to the Timberwolves almost certain.
A mooted deal would see Love trade to the Cavs, to play alongside LeBron and Kyrie Irving to quickly form the Eastern Conference’s newest ‘Big Three’, for Wiggins last year’s top pick Anthony Bennett and a future draft pick.
This would ensure the momentum in James’ career over the past four years in Maimi will not slow down, having been to the finals four times and victorious twice.
