(Video) WTF?! Andy Murray’s WAG Kim Sears in filthy tirade at Tomas Berdych during Aussie Open semi!.
Miss Sears was caught on camera swearing as tension grew high in the clash between the two top 10 players.
Yet Murray says that in the moment these things can happen and that tempers were high all around the court, with the Scot saying he too was on edge.
“In the heat of the moment you can say stuff that you regret,” the 27-year-old was quoted by BBC Sport.
“When there’s a lot of tension surrounding something, which you [the media] created, it’s completely normal that the whole first set everyone was tight,.
“I’m sure for Dani [Vallverdu, Murray’s former coach and Berdych’s current one] it was uncomfortable. Even Tomas, who very rarely says anything on the court, there was tension there for him, as well.”
In the end though all that mattered for Murray was the win, as he progressed to his fourth Aussie Open final thanks to a 6-7 (6-8) 6-0 6-3 7-5 victory.
He will play the winner of the other semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka on Sunday, with the chance to add another Grand Slam to the two he has won already in his career.
