Murray’s win over the Frenchman saw him set up a quarter-final showdown with world no.12 Feliciano Lopez, who upset Japan’s Kei Nishikori 6-4 7-5.
The Scot’s victory sees his move alongside Tim Henman on 496 career wins, a record for a British male in the modern era.

Murray didn’t have it all his own way against Mannarino, with the world no.4 having to battle hard against the Frenchman’s power game.
The match seemed to be on level pegging before Murray broke midway through both sets to claim the win.
