Chelsea have been relatively passive in the transfer window, especially if their activity is compared to Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Blues have nothing to worry about though, if Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher’s comments about the other teams’ new signings are true.
The longtime Liverpool defender believes that none of the signings that Chelsea’s main competitors have made would make the starting XI at Stamford Bridge.
“I’ve been watching the action in the window unfold and I am yet to see a signing that has made me think ‘wow’,” Carragher said, according to the Daily Mirror.
“For all the money that our clubs now have, we cannot say they have bought someone from the elite.”

It will be difficult to convince many fans that Carragher is right.
Star players such as striker Christian Benteke, midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and midfielder Raheem Sterling have transferred to Liverpool, Manchester United and Man City respectively.
However, there may be truth to these comments. After all, goalkeeper Petr Cech – hailed as Arsenal’s saviour – found himself on the bench at Stamford Bridge last season.
Chelsea enter the 2015-16 season as one of the frontrunners to win the Premier League title.
They were handed a massive boost last night when Jose Mourinho signed a new contract.
