Since moving from Real Madrid in the summer for £59.7 million the 26-year-old has made 26 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring three goals and assisting nine others. Although this isn’t an objectively terrible return, when the player was signed for such a high fee more was expected.
However, despite the French giants being willing to take the Argentine away from Old Trafford, he still wants to stay with the Mancunian side to show that he is not a flop. This may take some time with it possible he will be on the bench for United’s next game against Aston Villa.
The winger was amongst the substitutes for the 1-2 win over Liverpool, and manager Louis van Gaal was unhappy with how he played once introduced according to the report.
