Manchester United look to have agreed to sell British record-signing Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain for £44m – and it seems that his Old Trafford exit will be far from smooth.
According to the Daily Star, the wantaway forward will be been fined two weeks’ wages for missing the club’s pre-season tour – before heading to the Parc des Princes.
Man United manager Louis van Gaal has unsurprisingly been left infuriated by Di Maria’s antics, and will hand him a £360,000 bill for skipping the tour without permission.
The Red Devils boss has been persistent in claiming that he is clueless as to the former Real Madrid winger’s whereabouts after it was discovered that he had missed his flight to the States.
“I don’t want to answer that. Maybe you know where he is?” van Gaal said in a clearly embarrassed tone.
