After a disappointing season with Manchester United, midfielder Angel di Maria has transferred to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine international became a flop at Old Trafford after being bought for a British record £59.7m.
According to the Daily Star, di Maria revealed that Man United boss Louis van Gaal was the main reason why he left Old Trafford after only one season.
“Van Gaal has his philosophy and it is one of the reasons why I wanted to leave Manchester United,” di Maria said.
“It’s difficult to adapt to van Gaal. I had a number of flare ups with him.”
It was no secret that di Maria was disgruntled during his time with Man United, and he had a public falling out with van Gaal.
His career with Man United seemed promising at first, as he came up with three goals and six assists in his first 10 appearances.
The Dutch manager became furious with the 27-year-old midfielder for not showing up to the team’s pre-season tour, and he fined him two weeks’ worth of wages.
Di Maria was eventually sold to PSG for £45m after his bitter falling out with the Man United manager.
