It’s clear Man United need a striker, and there may be a good one within reach before the transfer window closes.
Through four Premier League games Wayne Rooney has failed to score a goal, and after scoring once in the last two games, Man United are prepared to make a big splash to land Monaco youngster Anthony Martial.
According to HITC, Man United have launched a surprise bid of £36.3 million for the 19-year-old French international – a bid that if successful would break the teenage transfer record currently held by Luke Shaw.
The sum would also be more than ten times the £3.5 million Monaco paid Lyon for his transfer back in 2013.
Anthony Martial recorded 8 goals in 31 league appearances for Monaco last season and had 11 goals in 42 total appearances for the French giants. Martial also has 4 goals in 12 caps for the France Under-21 team.
Two weeks ago it was reported that Chelsea were also interested in a possible deal for the teenage sensation.
