Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris knows a thing or two about Anthony Martial, having played the Man United wonderkid on the French national team. And like his fellow French teammate Paul Pogba, Lloris believes Anthony Martial will live up to expectations.
According to Mail Online, Lloris asserted that the 19-year-old Martial – who Man United paid £58 million to acquire from Monaco – has “huge potential” and can become “a great player” as long as he paces himself and doesn’t let the pressure get to him.

“He is a bit shy, but is well involved in the group. He’s going to make his mark, but it’s never easy,” Lloris said. “We (on the French team) talked a lot about him lately. He has to digest all of that, but he has huge potential.
“I’m sure that tomorrow, or in the future he will serve the national team and continue to grow.
“In any case, he really has huge potential to become a great player. But he must take one step after another.”
The massive deal for Martial raised plenty of eyebrows even among the Man United faithful. Since 2014 Martial has 9 league goals – the most among any UEFA teenager, but still not a mark that inspires confidence in a team that hasn’t had a single goal from a striker this season.
Lloris has also been a stopper target for the Red Devils in the past, and it is believed that Man United were hoping to land him as a replacement for David de Gea or Victor Valdes this past summer.
