Promising youngster Belfodil had previously been monitored by Liverpool.
Inter are closing in on a deal to bring Parma youngster Ishak Belfodil to the club, which will send Antonio Cassano in the opposite direction.
The Italian international’s agent confirmed that the move will be completed by “Wednesday or Thursday”, as a switch to the Tardini looks imminent according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
It is understood that the 30-year-old is joining Parma on an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season, while current team-mate Matias Silvestre will join him and €10m in exchange for Ishak Belfodil.
The Algerian striker made the headlines with the Ducali last season, and has been much sought after this summer. However, it appears that Inter have won the race for his signature, in a big move that will see them part with Cassano after just a season together.
The previously controversial star left city rivals AC Milan last summer to join the Nerazzurri, and his relationship with the club appeared to be going well.
However, as Inter and former boss Andrea Stramacconi began to struggle, things took a turn for the worse and it now seems as though he will move clubs yet again.
It is understood that he favours a move to Parma in order to get his World Cup hopes back on track, having been ignored by Cesare Prandelli since Euro 2012. While his talent has never been in question, his inability to settle has seen the much travelled Italian face consistent problems in his career.
At 21 years of age, Belfodil is clearly a signing for the future for Inter, as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season last year which saw them finish in ninth place in Serie A.
