The Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers fought to the bitter end in Week 6, and their matchup ended in a tie after Bengals kicker Mike Nugent missed a 36-yard field goal that would have won the game for the Bengals.
The intensity of the game got to Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict as he pulled a wrestling move by twisting the ankles of Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and Greg Olsen.
Burfict has developed a reputation as a dirty player since his days at Arizona State, but his ferocity has helped the Bengals defense remain a top unit in the NFL, with the exception of their past two games.
The linebacker has announced that he will appeal his fine, but it will be difficult for him to pull that off since he has been fined for dirty plays in his NFL career.
Here is a tweet from the Pro Football Talk Twitter account releasing the news on Burfict’s intent to appeal.
