Juventus star midfielder Arturo Vidal will be sold to Arsenal for £21m, as reported by the Daily Star.
Arsenal managed to hold off Manchester United and Liverpool in their pursuit of the 28-year-old Chilean star, who is currently competing in the Copa America tournament.
Chile will be facing Peru in the semifinals, and Vidal will have another chance to prove himself to the Gunners before they make any deal official.
Arsenal is expected to seal their move for Vidal after the Copa America tournament concludes, and Vidal will represent a major upgrade in the Gunners’ midfield as he scored seven goals for Juventus in Serie A matches.
The Gunners were underwhelming in that aspect during the 2014-15 season, as they lacked a reliable scorer from the middle of the park, as well as a combative player to shield the defence.
Vidal will give Arsenal an even better chance to compete for their first Premier League title in 11 years after they finished last season in third place.
