Olivier Giroud has reportedly signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal.
The Daily Mail reports that terms were agreed between the two parties last season and that the Frenchman, 28, has now put pen to paper on an extension until 2018.
Giroud, who joined Arsenal from Montpellier HSC for £12m in 2012, scored 14 goals in 21 starts last season as the Gunners finished third in the Premier League.
But Emirates Stadium bosses are believed to have given manager Arsene Wenger the funds to sign a world-class striker who can fire the club to their first title since 2004.
Giroud’s international teammate Karim Benzema is thought to be Wenger’s top target, although Real Madrid are unlikely to sell the 27-year-old without making a marquee signing of their own.
