Uruguayan striker could be on the move.
After the dust settled from Arsenal’s failed £40m plus one pound bid for Luis Suarez, the talented striker was left marooned at Liverpool after announcing he wanted to leave, reports the Daily Mirror.
However, the Gunners are preparing once again to try and take the 26-year-old away from Merseyside.
After manager Arsene Wenger finally spent big by bringing playmaker Mesut Ozil to the Emirates, the Frenchman now wants to sign a striker to partner Olivier Giroud – who is currently the Gunners only out-and-out centre forward.
Yet should Brendan Rodgers’ side keep up their impressive start to the season (three wins from three in the league) then it may well be that however much the north London side bid, the striker may decide to stay.
Wenger also attempted a last minute deal with Chelsea to secure the services of Demba Ba, who spent much of last season on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
The deal fell through and with Lukas Podoloski out until Christmas with a hamstring injury and Yaya Sanogo yet to be given an opportunity to impress, the Gunners’ striking options are looking increasingly bare
