Goalkeeper on Gunners’ radar.
Italian goalkeeper Mattia Perin’s agent claims that Arsenal are among the clubs vying for the young stopper’s signature, reports Sky Sports.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at Pescara from Genoa and has made 24 appearances in the Serie A this season.
His performances have drawn the attention of several European heavyweights and Perin’s agent, Matteo Roggi, claims that the Gunners are one club keen on the youngster.
Current Arsenal number one Wojciech Szczesny has admitted he’s not been at his best this season and the Pole has been criticised by sections of the Gunners faithful for his performances between the sticks.
Roggi has also claimed interest from the likes of Barcelona and AC Milan and says any club wanting to sign Perrin will have to meet his €20m (£17.4m) price tag.
Despite the interest, Roggi expects his client to be at Genoa next term.
“There are many clubs interested in him: Arsenal, Barcelona, AC Milan. It has also been said about Juventus, Napoli and Roma.
“Currently, however, there is only one certainty about Mattia’s future: he will return to Genoa at the end of his loan and there is a mutual intention for him to spend at least one season in a Genoa shirt.
“Just a month ago we extended his contract until 2017 and Mattia’s cost is at least €20 million.
“I am 99 per cent sure he will be Genoa’s goalkeeper next season.”
Perrin has made one senior appearance for Italy.
