Premier League’s hotshots interested in the versatile midfielder.
European Champions Real Madrid have asked potential suitors of Argentine winger Angel di Maria to up their offer to £40 million if they want to sign the 26-year old, reports the Metro.
The Spanish giants have changed their stance on the versatile midfielder after refusing to sell him last season, which comes as a huge boost for the Premier League’s top clubs – Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
The Premier League’s best have been chasing Di Maria’s signature after being made aware of the midfielder’s unrest in Spain, but it remains to be seen whether they will agree to match Los Blancos’ demands.
Di Maria too has not ruled out a move away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer, which suggests that he could well have been deemed surplus to requirements by the Galacticos’ boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Di Maria was shifted into a more central role by Ancelotti last season after the signing of Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale for a World record £86 million fee, and the Argentine international’s unhappiness at Real could be a boon for Premier League sides, who are likely to jump at the chance to sign him.
