Toulouse star Capoue eyes summer exit.
Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue says he wants to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer in search of European football.
The 24-year-old, who has been linked with Arsenal in the past, has enjoyed a fine season for Toulouse, bagging 7 goals and 3 assists from a defensive midfield role.
The France international enforcer has also drawn admiring glances from AC Milan, Tottenham and PSG, but Toulouse coach Alain Casanova is hopeful the powerful star will remain with the Tefece.
Capoue, however, says he wants to leave the club and has hinted that he wants to play Champions League football next term.
“If he [Casanova] wants to keep me, that is good,” Capoue is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“That says that he counts on me, that he is happy with me.
“But it is football. I feel it is the moment to leave, to play in big competitions.”
Capoue is currently in Montevideo with the Les Bleus and insists nothing will be decided until after their friendlies against Uruguay on Wednesday and Brazil on Sunday.
“Right now, I am with the national team and I continue to represent TFC,” he said. “We will talk about it again after June 10.”
