A pair of Liverpool stars could be heading out of Anfield during the transfer period as Arsenal and Chelsea have begun lining up to make offers.
According to The Daily Star, Arsenal and Chelsea, along with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, have all been alerted to the strong possibility that striker Raheem Sterling fails to sign a new contract with the Reds when his contract expires next season. The departure of Sterling would also pave the way for winger Jordan Ibe to leave as well.
The Daily Star reported that Liverpool has offered Ibe £25,000-a-week to stay at Anfield – more than three times what he’s making now – but noted that Ibe is allegedly demanding double that amount to stay with the Reds. Sterling, meanwhile, reportedly turned down a £100,000-a-week contract offer from Liverpool and has pulled out of talks with the club.
Sterling has 16 goals for Liverpool over the last two seasons, and at age 20 is one of the fastest rising stars in the Premier League. Ibe, on the other hand, hasn’t made quite as much noise in the Premier League, but while he was on loan to Derby County last summer recorded 5 goals in just 20 appearances.
