Atletico’s Costa is available for around £34m.
The race to try and sign Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is hotting up as Borussia Dortmund join Arsenal and Chelsea in trying to tempt the 25-year-old, according to the Daily Express.
The Brazil-born Spaniard is available for around £34m due to a release clause in the forward’s contract and several top sides are considering activating this.
Costa has been in superb form this season and already has 23 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions, which has helped Atletico to the top of La Liga and the last-16 of the Champions League.
The Gunners have been eyeing up the attacker for some time and with it now looking unlikely they will be able to tempt Luis Suarez from Liverpool, this could be the perfect deal.
Yet the Blues are also tracking Costa as they look to improve their own strike force as current trio of Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres have all been lacking form in front of goal.
As for Dortmund, the Bundesliga outfit are in search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, with the Pole expected to announce in January that the 25-year-old is joining Bayern Munich at the end of the year.
Atleti however are not going to let Costa leave without a fight, with the side from the Spanish capital watching on as Radamel Falcao, Sergio Aguero and Torres have left in recent years.
However, if the buy-out fee is met then there is little the club can do.
