According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Football Italia, the talented youngster has revealed that the Rossoneri are his first choice as he eyes a reunion with Sinisa Mihajlovic.
The pair worked together during his loan spell at Sampdoria last season, although Milan have seen several bids rejected so far this summer.
Currently, they stand at €25m, but Roma are still looking for €30m which in turn opened the door to other clubs to swoop in and sign the future of the Italy defence.
Napoli have also been mentioned as a possible destination, but it is claimed that Roma prefer not to sell to a domestic rival and both Arsenal and Chelsea had been alerted by the news.
The 20-year-old is seen as a star for the present and future, and so it comes as no surprise that both Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have identified him as a possible target.
However, Milan look likely to beat them both to his signing even though they must now hope that his desire to join them will ensure that Roma reduce their demands to allow him to leave before the end of the transfer window.
