Attack:
Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur)
Christian Eriksen enjoyed a brilliant start to his Spurs career, providing an assist on his debut against Norwich and scoring in his next game against Tromso in the UEFA Europa League.
Since then, the Dane has assisted just once, again in the second tier of European competition against Sheriff, but has yet to make his mark in the Premier League.
Spurs will need more from a player expected to be their most creative influence.
Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
Arsenal reportedly gave their players a flu jab in the week leading up to their Manchester United clash, which induced flu symptoms in Per Mertesacker, Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mesut Ozil.
The latter two were deemed fit to play the match, but the game largely passed Arsenal’s star German playmaker by, and he didn’t even jump when the ball was crossed for him to head at goal.
Like Eriksen, Ozil had a blistering start to his Arsenal career, but has had a few quieter games recently. The Gunners will naturally expect more from their record signing.
Roberto Soldado (Tottenham Hotspur)
In eleven Premier League matches this season, Tottenham Hotspur have scored nine goals.
Three of their victories have been decided by Roberto Soldado penalties, but Spurs’ £26 million striker has scored just once from open play in the English top flight all season, and frequently appears immobile and unmotivated.
For someone so prolific in his home country of Spain, Soldado needs to find his goalscoring touch.
He is contributing little else at present.
