Which players have the best minute to chance ratio?
Goals seem to have been hard to come by in the Premier League in 2013/14, but not for the want of trying as fanatix shows the players with the best minute to chance ratio.
5. Andre Schurrle
Club: Chelsea.
Minutes per chance: 27.2.
The German is one of a host of talented attacking midfielders at Stamford Bridge, but is vying for a place with a creative side to the 22-year-old.
Oscar may be scoring the goals currently, but with Juan Mata out-of-favour and Eden Hazard and Willian underperforming, Schurrle could well seize the chance.
4. Morgan Amalfitano
Club: West Bromwich Albion.
Minutes per chance: 25.3.
The Frenchman was in superb form during the Baggies’ 3-0 demolition of Sunderland at the weekend and appears to be a great loan signing from Olympique Marseille.
At 28-years-old and experience on the international stage, Amalfitano could be the level head that West Brom require.
3. Santi Cazorla
Club: Arsenal.
Minutes per chance: 25.
Cazorla didn’t miss a single league match for the entire 2012/13 season, but has already picked up an injury this term that has sidelined the attacking midfielder.
However, in the matches the 28-year-old has played in the Spain international has been in fine form and a partnership with Mesut Ozil could well be formidable.
2. Mesut Ozil
Club: Arsenal.
Minutes per chance: 15.8.
There is a noticeable drop in the minutes from Cazorla to team-mate Ozil – who has impressed since a club record £42.4m switch from Real Madrid.
Three assists for the German in a 3-1 rout of Stoke City at the weekend further emphasised the impact the 24-year-old could have at the Emirates Stadium.
1. Sylvain Marveaux
Club: Newcastle United.
Minutes per chance: 15.6.
Surprisingly, despite Newcastle’s lack of potency in-front of goal it is a Magpies player that tops this list.
Marveaux has been realising the potential that was once seen in the Frenchman, although despite all the creativity is yet to actually provide an assist for a goal.
