Bellarabi was in sumptuous form last weekend as Bayer played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at Stuttgart, with Bellarabi and South Korean teammate Hon-Seung Min eviscerating the home defence before a rousing comeback, and also impressed during the midweek Champions League victory over Zenit St Petersburg in which the six Premier League sides all had representatives watching him.
This could spark a January bidding war for a player who has recently broken into Joachim Low’s German international side after taking his time to adapt to life at the BayArena following his move from second tier Eintracht Braunschweig – often flattering to deceive until the summer appointment of expansive new manager Roger Schmidt.
