Young centre-half Milosevic targeted by numerous Premier League clubs…
Arsenal, Liverpool and now Fulham are targeting AIK’s 21-year-old Swedish centre-back Aleksander Milosevic, and could bid for the defender when the transfer window reopens in January, reports the Express.
The 6 ft. 3″ powerful defender has shone in Swedish domestic football this season and last, and earned his first call-up to the senior Sweden squad earlier on this year.
Arsenal are publicly trying to sign a new centre-half, and a move for Milosevic, who wouldn’t demand first-team football immediately, would make perfect sense for Arsene Wenger. Although Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker have been impressive for the Gunners this term, the injury prone Thomas Vermaelen is the only current backup option.
Liverpool on the other hand have multiple centre-back options, with the likes of Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Kolo Toure, Tiago Ilori and £18m signing Mamadou Sakho all vying for starting spot. It seems unlikely Brendan Rodgers would make securing a deal for Milosevic a priority, when the attacking spots in his squad are so thin.
Fulham have struggled this season, and captain Brede Hangeland has been nowehere near his best. Milosevic could be a long-term replacement for the stalwart Norwegian centre-half, who has so far been partnering the inconsistent Fernando Amorebieta in defence.
