Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic unlikely to move this summer.
Arsenal and Liverpool target Asmir Begovic says he is happy to stay at Stoke this summer.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has been linked with a move away from the Britannia Stadium after a fine season between the sticks for the Premier League strugglers.
Both the Gunners and Liverpool are thought to be keen to upgrade their current goalkeeping options this summer and the Potters stopper is reportedly high on both Arsene Wenger’s and Brendan Rodgers’ shopping lists.
Begovic was reportedly keen to follow former boss Tony Pulis out of Stoke this summer but the 25-year-old has said he wants to stay at the club and fight for his place under new manager Mark Hughes.
“I am happy to be here and I am happy to stay here,” Begovic is quoted as saying by the Sport Review.
“I am looking forward to reporting back in pre-season, meeting the new manager and staff and cracking on with the new season.
“The most important thing is I am at a club where I am settled and I feel comfortable. Everyone has been really good to me and the chairman has been fantastic.
“I am going to have to work hard to keep my place and I am looking forward to that.
“Jack [Butland] is a good up-and-coming keeper and everyone knows about Thomas and the qualities he has.
“He has a good deal of experience and quality. We have a strong group of goalkeepers and I am looking forward to being part of it.”
